Mid Coast Ford Motorfest, Sunday 9th June 2024, See You There!

Posted

This flagship event – the Mid Coast Ford Motorfest 2024 – is again being held in John Wright Park, Tuncurry on Sunday June 9th, from 8am to 2pm.

The Great Lakes Historic Automobile Club has held this iconic annual event for over 30 years and invites all motor clubs to join us overlooking beautiful Cape Hawke Harbour at Tuncurry. The club expects this year’s event will exceed our very successful 2023 event where we had more than 290 vehicles on display.

This year sees increasing interest in displays by numerous car clubs with trophies to be awarded to ‘Best Club Display’ for the winner and runner-up. Entries include the Pontiac, Jaguar and Mustang owners clubs as well as strong interest from local clubs. Prizes and trophies, provided by local businesses, will be presented across a broad range of vehicles. A new category of ‘Under the Bonnet’ will be trialled this year.

The motor show is not restricted to car clubs, so motorists with vehicles that may be of ‘special interest’ are welcome to join in with fellow enthusiasts. Come on down to John Wright Park with your vehicle from 8am to 9.30am. We are also expecting a good display of motorcycles.

On display also will be a very interesting array of stationary engines from the DONKS Club. Great Lakes FM will be broadcasting live throughout the show. Hot food and coffee will be available. During the day, our roving reporter will provide interesting interviews with car owners, the public and our vendors.

The event will be opened at 11am by the Honourable Tanya Thompson, MP, member for Myall Lakes. Our club is very appreciative of the vast community support we get from local businesses, and, in particular Midcoast FORD, who are again, in 2024, our major sponsor.

Entry for vehicles on display is a $10 donation, the proceeds of which will go to Great Lakes Palliative Care Group.
The event is open to the public, and entry for the public is free. Last minute updates regarding the event will be posted on our website, www.glhac.org
